All Butter, Flaky Pie Crust

Make-ahead friendly with easy cleanup

Just butter, flour, and water can make a homemade pie dough that's flakier than store-bought! This step-by-step all butter flaky pie crust recipe is easy and quick with very little cleanup.

Gather your ingredients:

All purpose flour, salted butter, and ice cold water

Rub the butter into the flour, using your thumbs and first two fingers

Stop when the largest piece of butter is no larger than a grape

Add ice cold water to the dough, filtering out the ice

Flip the flour and butter into the water until it forms a shaggy dough

Continue to incorporate the water until the dough forms a ball

Wrap tightly in plastic wrap or bee's wrap and chill for at least two hours

Then, roll out your dough and use in your favorite recipe!
