Lavender Chocolate Chip Cookies

Give the classic chocolate chip cookie a delicious floral twist with the addition of lavender.

Use white, dark, milk, or semi-sweet chocolate chips.

Gather granulated sugar, chocolate chips,

vanilla extract, lavender, and all-purpose flour.

baking powder & soda, brown sugar, an egg,

Grind half of the lavender in a mortar & pestle or food processor.

Leave the other half of the lavender whole.

Cream together the butter, sugars, and ground lavender until light and fluffy.

Add the egg and vanilla extract, and beat until light and fluffy once more.

Beat in the flour, baking powder & soda, and remaining lavender until just combined.

Add your favorite chocolate chips and stir together by hand.

Cover and chill the dough for at least 30 minutes and up to 72 hours.

Skip this step if you'd like flatter and crispier cookies!

Scoop the cookie dough onto parchment paper-lined baking sheets.

Bake at 375°F/190°C for 9-11 minutes.

The edges will be lightly golden brown, and the center will still be a bit gooey.
